Challenge Prizes

In 2011, we’re giving away:

• 9 Amazon Kindles
• 3 iPod Nano MP3 players
• a downtown Knoxville “Staycation” including 2-nights accommodations for two people at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, dinner at Café 4, Regal Cinemas tickets and more.
• a Grand Prize of $1,500 towards the price of an airline trip, cruise or package tour purchased from AAA Travel East Tennessee, courtesy of AAA Travel East Tennessee.

Winners will be drawn from participants who log at least 12 clean commute days (24 roundtrips) between May 1 and July 31, 2011.

How you do it is up to you! It can be one day a week during the entire Challenge or every day for the last 12 days of the Challenge – whatever gets you to the required number of trips.

Business Challenge

Prizes and certificates will go to the top worksites, in five size categories, at the end of the Challenge. The business with the highest total number of points will be declared the overall winner and will receive a Tomato Head pizza and Magpies cupcakes party. Others will receive Magpies cupcakes for their Smart Trips participants.

Companies can earn up to 50 points based on:

• the total number of registrants who log at least 12 days (24 roundtrips) commuting to and from work by bike, bus, carpool, creative work scheduling or walking between May 1 and July 31, 2011 (worth up to 25 points)
• the percentage of total employees who are registered, logging, as defined above, Smart Trips participants between May 1 and July 31, 2011 (worth up to 25 points)

The business which exhibits the most enthusiastic participation, the best efforts of its Employer Transportation Coordinator (ETC) and the highest numbers of new registrants during the Challenge will be named the Green Spirit Award winner and will also receive a Tomato Head pizza party – and the official Green Spirit Award log.
